Who We Are

Business support, when done well, is far more than administrative assistance, it’s a strategic function that creates the conditions for better decisions, smoother delivery, and sustainable growth. It clears operational noise, closes gaps, and enables leaders to focus on the work that truly moves the business forward.

At Allium, we deliver business support through the lens of a fractional operations and strategy partner, combining execution with judgement, and detail with discernment. We focus on the operational layer that keeps things moving, shaping how work gets done, aligning day-to-day execution with broader priorities, and creating space for leaders to focus where it matters most.

We work remotely, integrating seamlessly with our clients’ teams to provide tailored, senior-level support that flexes to meet the demands of the business. The result is greater clarity, more headspace, and the confidence that nothing critical is falling between the cracks.

A Word About Our Founder & MD

Who is Silja? (pronounced Celia)

Silja is a fractional operations and strategy partner, helping leaders run their businesses with greater clarity, structure, and confidence.

Her career spans almost three decades across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, working in sectors as varied as corporate, advisory, non-profit, and entrepreneurial. That breadth has taught her how to see what’s missing, what’s slowing things down, and what needs to quietly get done to make everything else work better.

One of her proudest accomplishments was co-founding the Topsy Foundation in South Africa, an organisation that continues to serve rural communities 25 years on. During her eight years at the helm, the foundation supported over 7,000 beneficiaries with access to healthcare, education, and nutritional aid. It taught her how to build without a blueprint, to lead with intention, and to remain grounded in service no matter how complex the challenge.

Based in the United Arab Emirates since 2008, Silja works with a small, trusted team to support clients who value thoughtfulness, discretion, and consistency. She sees her role not just as a service provider, but as a long-term partner, someone who understands the demands of leadership and helps create the space for others to lead well.

Rooted in her German heritage, where precision and accountability are core values, dotting i’s and crossing t’s isn’t a habit, it’s a mindset. Silja speaks five languages and has always had an eye for detail, especially when it comes to the written word.

Above all, her focus is on bringing structure and consistency to the areas that are easy to miss but critical to get right. She believes that how things are done matters just as much as what gets done.

Why work with a Fractional Operations Partner?

Christine Crater, a sociologist and one of the founders of the Greater Good Science Centre at the University of California, Berkeley says, “The sweet spot is when you’re operating with the greatest ease, with the least resistance, and the greatest power of strength.” The key is understanding what you are naturally drawn to and stimulated by, instead of depleted by. The goal is to get as many of the things that drain you off your plate and onto someone else’s who will be energised by them.

Engaging a Fractional Operations Partner at the right level is a strategic investment in the long-term health and focus of your business. It’s not about handing off tasks, it’s about integrating operational expertise where it has real impact.

An experienced consultant brings structure to ambiguity, identifies what’s slowing momentum, and creates the systems that support sustained progress. This is someone who thinks beyond the to-do list who understands context, applies judgement, and quietly ensures that what needs to happen, does.

This is not support in the traditional sense. It’s embedded, considered partnership that creates the space for sharper execution, and more deliberate growth.

When the operational layer is intentional, considered, and consistently delivered, everything above it works better.
